My Background with the Works of J.R.R Tolkien
Like with many fans, my interest in Tolkien started when the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy came out in the early 2000s. I was in elementary/middle school at the time, but as childhood interests go, it gradually waned over the years. But during the chaos of the year 2020, I found myself again gravitating towards the comfort of a familiar story, where hope and good prevailed. And before I knew it, I was delving into the rest of the Legendarium.Elrond wasn't a character who stood out to me when I was younger, but he quickly became my absolute favorite as an adult, now with an older (and debatably wiser :P) perspective, and learning his full story beyond just LOTR/TH. Despite losing so much that was dear to him, he perseveres and still chooses kindness.
About My Art
I've drawn a lot of Tolkien art over the past few years! Including probably 80+ individual Elronds. (If I haven't convinced you yet that he's my favorite!) Some of my favorite things to explore are ideas that aren't in the books themselves, but would fit right in based on what we know about those characters and the timeline.I also highly value diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion in Tolkien, which you'll see reflected in my art as well.
